Amitai Schwartz

Amitai SchwartzAmitai Schwartz is admitted to practice in all state courts in California. He is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for Central, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California.

He started out working with several civil rights organizations and then worked as a staff lawyer at the ACLU of Northern California. In 1985 he founded the Law Offices of Amitai Schwartz. He has a broad range of legal experience. He has served on many court and bar association committees. He was selected for membership in both the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer and is listed among the Best Lawyers in America.

Amitai graduated in 1972 from Boalt Hall, now known as Berkeley Law. He received a B.A. from Brandeis University. He received the American Bar Association's pro bono publico award, a pro bono award from the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, three Awards of Merit from the Bar Association of California, an Angel Award from California Lawyer magazine, a Lawyer of the Year Award from California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, and the James Madison Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, Northern California Freedom of Information Committee. He has been AVĀ® rated by Martindale-Hubbell for over 30 years.
