Amitai Schwartz

Amitai SchwartzAmitai Schwartz is admitted to practice in all state courts in California. He is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for Central, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California.

He started out working with several civil rights organizations and then worked as a staff lawyer at the ACLU of Northern California. In 1985 he founded the Law Offices of Amitai Schwartz. He has a broad range of legal experience. He has served on many court and bar association committees. He was selected for membership in both the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer and is listed among the Best Lawyers in America.

Amitai graduated in 1972 from Boalt Hall, now known as Berkeley Law. He received a B.A. from Brandeis University. He received the American Bar Association's pro bono publico award, a pro bono award from the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, three Awards of Merit from the Bar Association of California, and an Angel Award from California Lawyer magazine. He has been AVĀ® rated by Martindale-Hubbell for 25 years.

Moira Duvernay

Moira DuvernayMoira Duvernay is admitted to practice in all state courts in California. She is a member of the bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Ninth, and District of Columbia Circuits, and the United State District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California.

She previously worked as a staff attorney for the Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA) in San Francisco, California. She litigated high-impact international human rights cases in federal courts on behalf of survivors of torture or other severe human rights abuses.

Moira graduated in 2004 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She received a B.A. from Brown University. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked as a teacher in Haiti and as a Program Coordinator for the San Francisco-based nonprofit organization, Global Exchange. She speaks Haitian Creole, Spanish, and French. She was named an Attorney of the Year by California Lawyer magazine.
